Murrieta Region: Sinkhole shuts down 215 Freeway in both directions, possibly for days
Murrieta, California - A sinkhole that developed in the center divider of the 215 Freeway between Murrieta Hot Springs Road and Los Alamos Road will shut down the highway in both directions for at least 48 hours, maybe more. An assessment is currently being conducted to determine the extent of the damage. Interstate 215 is being closed as a safety measure at this time. More information will be shared tomorrow once the assessment is completed.
ALL TRUCK TRAFFIC MUST DETOUR to State Route 74! Use SR-74 to travel between
I-15 and I-215. SR-74 is approximately 15 miles north of Temecula.
